How To Set Large Print for
Your Web Pages in Internet Explorer or Netscape
INTERNET EXPLORER
1. Be sure that you are viewing an Internet Explorer window. Look at the menu at
the very top of this window.
2. Click on "View." Slide your pointer down the pop-down menu to "Text Size." Slide your
pointer over to the right, onto the menu that has popped up. You will see "Largest," "Larger,"
"Medium," "Smaller," and "Smallest." The print size that is currently in effect is the one that
has a large dot next to it. Click on the size that you want, and the large dot will now appear next
to that size.
If after this, you experience problems in getting or keeping large print sizes during your
travels around WWW, you may need to assert your authority a little more, following the steps
below:
1. Click on "Tools" on the menu of the Internet Explorer window. Slide your pointer
down to the bottom of the pop-down menu and click on "Internet Options." This will bring up a
small page with several tabs at the top. Click on the "General" tab. Down nearly at the bottom of
this page and at the right is a rectangular button labeled "Accessibility." Click on this
button.
2. Another, smaller page will pop up, the Accessibility screen. On this screen, click in the
little box on the left side of the words, "Ignore font sizes specified on Web Pages." Click the OK
button down at the bottom.
3. Now Click the OK button at the bottom of the small page with tabs on it.
You are now mistress or master of your own destiny, and all web pages should bow to your
supremecy. You can change your type size back again anytime you wish, by using this
routine.
NETSCAPE
1. Be sure that you are viewing a Netscape window. Look at the menu at
the very top of this window.
2. Click on "View." Slide your pointer down to "Text Zoom" on the menu and another menu
will pop up on the side, showing you size choices. The print size that is currently in effect is the
one that has a large dot next to it. Click on the size that you want, and the large dot will now
appear next to that size.
I do not have enough experience with Netscape to advise you on what to do if after making
the above changes your authority is scoffed at, and some web pages are still flinging teeny print
at you. You may not experience any problems at all, in which case, Bravo for Netscape!
